Project: Abraj Quartier, The Pearl, Doha, Qatar
Dura Pergolas add shade and interest to outdoor spaces.
The Abraj Quartier is the landmark component of a major mixed-use development in Doha known as “The Pearl”. The Island is located 350m offshore of Doha’s prestigious West Bay District and is one of the largest urban developments in the GCC region.
When complete, the Abraj Quartier or “Neighbourhood of Towers” will include a number of waterside townhouses which utilise composite timber Dura Pergolas to provide residents with additional privacy and a tranquil retreat from which to enjoy the surrounding views.
In total 321 Dura Pergolas, Trellises and Cabanas are being installed across the development with a further 863 sqm of Composite Timber screening and 257 linear metres of Cladded Pergolas to follow. Dura Composites decking and composite wood products have also been selected to provide a substantial 3900sqm of decking using Dura Deck boards and 62 street furniture benches.
The material from Dura Composites was chosen for its ability to combine the traditional appearance of wood with the durability of an engineered composite. It is suitable for extreme climates and will retain its finish for decades to come with minimal maintenance thanks to its UV resistant and colour stable properties.
